Telescoping Ladder now Extends to 15.5 Feet
I love telescoping ladders. They’re extremely compact and easy to stow compared to the classical alternatives that always get in the way in your basement or garage. Those are really difficult to handle when you need them around the house – or worse, elsewhere. The telescopic alternatives, however, often weren’t up to the “serious” tasks on your roof or drainpipe. But now the new models reach up to 15.5 ft!
Why It’s Clever
Oh boy, how I hate the three-part 16 ft extension ladder that’s taking up half of my garage and forces me to crawl out of my own car because I can’t fully open the door. But I haven’t switched to a telescoping ladder yet, because I still need to be able to reach the roof for the occasional loose roof tile or leaky drainpipe.
Recently, I noticed that the new telescoping ladders are showing real promise as a valid alternative to the old extension ladder. The new 785P Pro Series from Xtend and Climb, for instance, reaches a respectable height of 15.5 ft. That brings you a lot closer to experiencing height vertigo than with the tiny 8 ft models of the past. And when you want to use it elsewhere, the height when closed is only a little above 3 ft, so you can throw it in the trunk of your car and drive off with it.

On YouTube you can see it at work:
