Portable Foldable Kitchen Scale from Newline

Several foldable kitchen scales can be found, though many models force you to hang them on the wall. This original design isn’t just compact, it looks good too. And when folded, you can hang it on a towel or utensil rack. Seems a great Mother’s Day gift to me.

What's This? Why It’s Clever

Personally, for most preparations, I don’t weigh ingredients. I just make an educated guess of what could be about 10 oz and throw it in the pan. At the other extreme, my mother prepares food as if she’s preparing medication – deviations of more than 1% are simply not acceptable.

Anyway, sometimes you do need a scale, and it’s handy if it doesn’t take up half of a drawer or the better part of your counter top. And while we’re at it, why shouldn’t it look better than the boring crème or white designs that we’re all used to? This designer foldable kitchen scale seems to do a good job of addressing both requirements. What’s more, it even features a clock and timer with audio signal, making use of the same LCD display. So, when you’re done weighing your ingredients, you can monitor the cooking time down to the second.

Finished cooking? Just hang it on the utensil rack.
