Wireless Bedroom LED Reading Light
For those visionary people among you who have already foreseen cable ducts at the head end of your bed, it's a piece of cake to install a reading light. As long as you manage to connect three mains wires to a lamp, of course. So far, the other lights we've reviewed – like the Lili Lite - have had to be content with wires hanging off the wall. This wireless overbed lamp at least overcomes this problem. It uses LEDs instead of bulbs and can therefore be battery operated.
Why It's Clever
Some time ago we wrote about the brilliantly designed Lili Lite. In our opinion, the only drawback of this reading light annex bookshelf was that it had a power cord, ruining the design by having a wire hanging down next to the wall.
This is exactly what this "wireless" lamp manages to avoid. It uses very low-power LEDs instead of bulbs and can therefore be battery operated (4 D batteries). If you don't like buying new batteries every few weeks, I suppose that you can use rechargeable batteries as well.
The lamps slide along the tracks, so they can be optimally positioned and then swiveled to aim directly at their "target." Even better, each lamp can be switched on or off individually and can be dimmed, allowing you to catch up on your reading without keeping your partner awake.
I love the features of both the Lili Lite and this one, so someone pleeeaase combine them in one product.
Summary
- Bedroom reading light without cables hanging off the wall
- Batery opterated, very low-power LEDs
- Lamps individually adjustable and dimmable.
