Retrofit Adjustable Bed – Mattress Genie
Many people like to read or watch TV in bed, while others might suffer from acid reflux. These are all valid reasons to treat yourself to an adjustable bed frame, but they don’t come cheap. And they may not even be compatible with your current bed. This Mattress Genie bed lift system from Contour looks like a great alternative. It can be placed under the mattress and is inflated by the supplied compressor.
Why It’s Clever
There are so many inflatable travel mattresses on the market that it was only a matter of time before someone thought of making an inflatable bed wedge to place underneath your mattress at home. This mattress genie makes an adjustable bed at a fraction of the cost of an adjustable bed frame, without needing to replace what you already have.
The Mattress Genie comes with an electric pump – you don’t want to get on your knees to blow into a valve in the middle of the night – and an illuminated wand control. Just press the up or down buttons to adjust the height, or press the “flat” button when you’re finished reading and you want to go to sleep.

It comes in a variety of sizes – Twin, Full, Queen and King – depending on your needs.
Note: One customer review points out that small animals tend to crawl into the remaining open space between the mattress and the bed frame. So if you still feel a bump after deflating your Mattress Genie, you might check where Pixie hangs out.

Tips

Don't know the balloon for trucks, that's a clever idea too. Lot's of inflating to do, in that case.
I've seem a balloon for cars, though. The purpose of that one is to lift your car when you need to change a tyre and it's inflated by the exhaust gasses. Simply connect it to the exhaust, turn on the engine and the balloon inflates.

Never saw one of those. Great stuff, but I'd keep a distance!

How well does it work with mattresses that have inner springs?
This design seems familiar. Like the Balloons they use to Turn trucks that have fallen on their sides??
