Radiator Booster Increases Heating Efficiency and Speed

Compared with “traditional” radiators, convector heaters warm up a room very quickly and don’t send half of the energy into the wall to which they are attached, but often they are built into the floor or they are mobile and work on electricity. The Radiator Booster turns your existing radiator into a convector, thereby increasing both speed and efficiency.

What's This? Why it's Clever and Easy

Classical radiators rely upon the relatively slow air circulation from bottom to top. This means that the air between them and the wall to which they are attached has plenty of time to heat up the wall, while your room slowly warms up - unless you glue reflective isolation sheets to the wall behind the radiator. Worse, the heat generated by a normal radiator rises directly to the ceiling, heating your room gradually from the ceiling down to the floor, whereas the ceiling is the warmest spot. The radiator booster is kind of a long fan which makes the air circulate much faster, making your radiator act as a convector. This means for instance that you don’t need to turn on the heating a long time before you want to take a bath, the room warms up while the water is running and the warm air is blown into the room in stead of rising to the ceiling. This way, the radiator booster saves you energy.

The only drawback might be that the radiator booster needs to be plugged into a power outlet, so you’d need to have one in the vicinity of your radiator. But the device as such uses very little electricity, it won’t “eat up” the energy that you save on the other side.

Summary

  • Radiator Booster attaches to most standard radiators and makes air move faster
  • Saves energy
  • Can be used with radiator covers
  • Does not need to be exactly same length as the radiator
  • Needs power outlet
  • 27.5” x 2.2” (700mm x 56 mm).

Tips

  • If you don’t want it turned on all day long, which you shouldn’t, you can combine it with a timer connected to the power outlet.
  • You can only use it for water filled radiators, since the oil-filled and some other types get too hot.
